The Harding University choral program is in its third year under the direction of Mr. Ryan Harrison for the 2017-2018 school year. This year will be a building year for the choir as it's members work diligently to obtain vocal skills and techniques.
Choir is an elective course at HUHS and is available to all students in 9th-12th grades. Students learn music from various time periods and genres as well as the techniques needed to sing music in the styles of these time periods. Students also learn music theory and the relationship between music and other educational disciplines.

Mr. Harrison is a native of Baltimore, MD. He was a member of the Baltimore City College HS choir where he was given the opportunity to perform all over the country, including Carnegie Hall in NY.
Mr. Harrison received his B.M. in Music Education from Norfolk State University. During his tenure at NSU he was a member of the NSU Concert Choir as well as the Spartan Chorale, NSU Chamber Choir, and NSU Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Previously, Mr. Harrison taught elementary school general music in the Williamsburg - James City County district. Mr. Harrison offers private lessons in voice and piano. |
